MTEC has created Focused Indicator Training (FIT) plans for teacher professional development. The FIT plans are a training tool that can be implemented at the district, school, and team level. Each FIT plan focuses on a specific indicator of a district’s teacher effectiveness rubric and utilizes video classroom observations to illustrate varying levels of performance on a given indicator or element.
This FIT plan training is on Student Engagement and identifies factors of student engagement and supports participants in expanding their knowledge and use of research-based instructional strategies that actively engage students in lessons.
The goal of this workshop is for participants to:
Know the definition and key factors of student engagement
Understand that there are instructional strategies that support each of the key factors that impact student engagement
Define and recognize student engagement
Learn instructional strategies for student engagement that can be applied in educational contexts
